GCSE Maths is sat by almost every student in England, and every board splits it into two tiers: Foundation awards grades 1–5, Higher awards 4–9. Your school enters you for one, usually off the back of mock results, and the paper you sit is written to that tier.
The notes here are written separately for each board, because the boards genuinely differ in what they ask and how they ask it. Choose yours and the topic list, worked examples and practice questions all follow it.

- Your exam timetable names it, and so does every past paper your school hands out. AQA, Edexcel and OCR are the three that set GCSE Maths in England.

- Most of the maths is shared, but the spec references, the formulae given to you in the exam and the question style are not. Revise from your own board.
